Executive Chef & Owner

Angela Barany

Angela Barany is the driving force behind Joy & Joy, with close to 30 years of experience as a Cordon Bleu-trained chef and event manager. Known for her ability to bring people together through exceptional food, Angela leads her team with passion and dedication. Her expertise in creating memorable culinary experiences is unrivaled, consistently delivering high-quality and delicious meals for any occasion.

Angela’s philosophy is simple: food should be made with care and served with love, and her motto, “EAT, EAT, EAT,” reflects her dedication to providing both quality and quantity.

In June of 2023 & 2024, Joy & Joy won the Tourism, Hospitality and Events award at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards and Silver in the national AusMumpreneur Awards for Customer Service.

In 2022, Angela was recognised as a leader in her field, winning the prestigious Gold Coast Women in Business Award for Business Achiever, celebrating her remarkable leadership, inspiration, and business acumen.

Event Manager

Lizzy Tanner

Lizzy is an integral member of Joy&Joy. She brings her experience of all things events and is our Event Manager for our large scale events. Her finesse for building and encouraging our team is outstanding.

Mariana

Mariana has 7 years of experience working at renowned venues like Le Tropic, Burleigh Pavilion, and La Luna restaurant. When she’s not perfecting her sweet creations, you can find her walking on the beach, hitting the gym, or indulging in her love for desserts.

Marilia

With 15 years of culinary experience, Marilia has spent the last 3 years as Head Chef at I Love Ramen, mastering her craft. Her journey began at All Saints Anglican School, where she first discovered her passion for cooking in the boarding house kitchen. Outside of the kitchen, Marilia enjoys surfing, punk rock music, and catching sunrises at the beach.

5 years of experience in various restaurants and catering on the Gold Coast. Claudia loves the beach, warm weather and cooking for friends.

Our Wait Staff and Bar Staff

Our certified wait staff and bar staff are the backbone of our service. Trained in food handling and customer service, they ensure that every guest is well taken care of. Their high energy and willingness to go the extra mile make every event smooth and enjoyable. Whether it’s serving canapés or mixing cocktails, our staff brings professionalism and a friendly touch to every interaction.
